We at the
Office of Parish Stewardship strive to provide a servant-leadership role to the parishes
enrolled in the Program by offering support, assistance, resources and
materials, and formational opportunities to Parish Stewardship Leaders.
Our goal is to help make
Stewardship
A Way of Life throughout our Diocese as we all go about the business of
helping to build the Kingdom of God on Earth.
Our
theme for the 2006-2007 Pastoral Year is, "We are the Hands of Christ."
This theme was inspired by the prayer of St. Teresa of Avila from the 16th
century. It is a most fitting stewardship theme in that everything we do,
we do in the name of Jesus including the work of our hands.
Our materials for this pastoral year are designed to help people in our parishes reflect
upon how the works that we do reflect our Christianity. How we use our
individual God-given gifts gives witness to what we believe. How does
each one of us live out Jesus’ call to discipleship? How do we respond to that
call, especially as we are several years into the New Millennium.
