The Diocesan Stewardship Committee

This Committee is appointed by the Bishop and consists of religious, clergy (priests and deacons), lay parish and diocesan leaders.  The purpose of the Committee is to share ideas and give input to various aspects of the implementation of parish stewardship throughout our Diocese.  The Committee meets twice during the Pastoral Year and is composed of up to 20 members, each having a three year term.  The terms of about one-third of the Committee expire each year, so as to allow "new blood" to enter.  About one-fourth of the Committee are ex-officio members with unlimited terms.

The larger Committee is broken down into four Subcommittees that focus on particular aspects of the administration or implementation of parish stewardship in the diocese.  The Subcommittees meet when necessary.  They are:

Communications
This group works to determine strategies and a plan to help spread the stewardship message through the use of various media.

Program
This group works on planning and evaluating the Spring and Fall training days and other formational experiences for parish leaders.

Membership and Evaluation
This group works to evaluate and address parish participation in the Parish Stewardship Program. The group discusses ideas and devises methods for the potential involvement of those not participating in the Program.

Executive
This group helps shape and focus the overall direction of the Diocesan Parish Stewardship effort. Regular meetings are called to address issues like the budget, staffing, and setting the DSC agenda, etc.
