It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Long Island Interfaith Environmental Network (LIIEN), which was formed by a group of environmentally conscious congregations of several faiths, in conjunction with the environmental group Neighborhood Network.
LIIEN held its first event last May—a forum to raise the consciousness of all of the Faith Communities of Long Island. The response was very enthusiastic, with the room filled to capacity.
Another forum is planned for April 16, 2008 (click for info flyer). All Parishes are encouraged to attend and to learn the many dimensions of Stewardship that are tied to environmental awareness.
